Website keyboard focus loserboard
This page lets you compare the amount of keyboard focus issues in NZ Govt websites. Data is from NZ Govt's official figures, as part of the CWAC monitoring programme.
Keyboard focus visibility is a crucial requirement for people who navigate websites using a keyboard. A visible indicator must show which element is selected when navigating by keyboard. No visible focus means tabbing with no way to see what's about to activate. Failures of this test prove a failure of WCAG Success Criterion 2.4.7 Focus Visible.
Note: This is based on automated checks for visible focus indicators only. It does not test full keyboard operability, which requires manual testing. However, failures of this test do confirm WCAG SC 2.4.7 Focus Visible failures.
